"CODA is an oasis of calm and taste"

" CODA is an oasis of calm and taste...the place where you and your girls head after work. CODA belongs in this evolving and evolved area. It is a place of relative alternative calm. Seekers of refuge from popped collars and so-so bar food take note. Your oasis is here.."

" On a recent night at CODA dressy post-work lushes socialize cheek to jowl with a school wrestling team and people of all ages and types come and go.The food here is good, the drinks are unstinting and the service is friendly. CODA doesn't do small portions. An appetizer or a salad could serve as dinner for someone whos not too hungry and entrees are likely to become tomorrow's lunch. Those take-out tins are heavy. You could do do bicep curls with the mashed potatoes alone. Well presented comfort food and a cheerfully eclectic wine list...but perhaps the best measure of a kitchen dishing out comfort food is its mac & cheese. CODA nails it. Its not too dry, not too gooey, with the perfect amount of cheese....CODA has a solid formula: strong cocktails, huge portions of food, good burgers plus friends and neighbors all adding up to a low price tag in the end."

" Among the menu items is an enormous portion of turkey & portobello
meatloaf, which is full of fresh rosemary and accompanied by a mound of mashed potatoes and sauteed cauliflower The food is simple, inexpensive and good. The wine list is more sophisticated...there's an exciting range of well-priced choices not typically offered in neighborhood joints. So as you debate the merits of Coda's burger, you can do it with a great glass of wine."

" The opening of CODA in the space that was Tim's should cheer people up. CODA serves giant helpings of spot-on mac & cheese and other comfort food, a very fine burger and strong cocktails all at reasonable prices."

" Wait till you see what they've done with the one time dive...cocktails for adults, not the keg crowd."

" An Old Dive Takes A Great Leap... an unstuffy bar for grown-up drinkers... baked macaroni & cheese contends for best-of-Boston bragging rights...a welcoming bar."

" Were not one to be nostalgic, but the turkey and Portobello mushroom meatloaf at CODA makes us weepy for the comforts of Mommy's kitchen. It has it's grown-up moments, with a sweet red onion marmalade and a pile of whipped potatoes (no lumps as far as we can tell), but the generous portions and cozy setting make us forget our woes for a spell. Then it all comes back..."

" Like any decent neighborhood hangout, beer is a big attraction at CODA. The bar is highlighted by a spectacular collection of high end suds including draft Chimay, a Belgian trappist ale rarely seen on tap..."

" The new kid in town is CODA and the folks there are already making a name for themselves by modernizing the already modern...Thankfully CODA is keeping the pomegranatae alive and burning hot with the En Fuego a pom-tini upgrade that doffs vodka for tequila. Patron Anejo to be exact, mingled with fresh pomegranate juice and pomegranate liqueur. Persephone herself would sidle up to the bar for this one..."

" The owners of Allston's Common Ground got the memo: Open a restaurant in the South End. Why? All the cool kids are doing it. Peer pressure or not, this neighborhood eatery serves up the likes of turkey and portobello mushroom meatloaf, artichoke & fontina ravioli and marinated chargrilled lamb steak for reasonable prices. The drink list isn't too shabby either..."

" CODA skips the high prices and pretentions of it's neighbors, while offering the quality that it's address demands. Nestle up in the cushioned window seats and nosh on cultured classics like mac & cheese with crispy pancetta and wild mushrooms in an aged cheddar sauce...from drinks to decor, it's old school comfort with a modern sheen..."

" CODA blends the traditional, casual, comfort food aspect of a neighborhood bar with a modern flair. Whether you are looking for a delicious lunch, a post work cocktail, a fab dining destination or simply a spot for after hours drinks, CODA has you covered...the beer and wine lists include eclectic selections outside the standard merlots and chardonnays...with an open and friendly staff, CODA provides the ideal atmosphere for relaxed gatherings. CODA offers a bold but cozy alternative in Boston nightlife providing the one-stop-shop for lunch, afterwork cocktails, dinner and evening nightcaps."

" The South End boasts a new hangout for work-weary residents. Located just around the corner from Back Bay Station, those coming from work can find solace in drinks and eats at Coda Bar and Kitchen...with the sleek, warm interior decor you'll feel comfortable in..."

" There is no challenge in finding gussied up blue-plate favorites, CODA offers the basics of a good neighborhood bar and restaurant but dressed up just enough to keep it interesting. When well executed, the dishes at CODA hit the mark. The relaxed environment matched with an approachable and upbeat staff maks this South End restaurant worthy of becoming a home away from home.
